My friend Kim once lost her cheeseburger on a trip in college. It was one of the more memorable experiences of the trip for two reasons: because it was Kim, and because loosing a cheeseburger in a University Van full of students, all wearing sandy shoes, is always a no win situation. The response to Kim's question, "Has anyone seen my cheeseburger?" was laughter for nearly 10 minutes. It took the concerted effort of everyone on the van to find it. When we found it, the cheeseburger was no longer a thing to be enjoyed.
It was a good laugh as she was joining in on the good time. We still talk about it and laugh "Remember when Kim lost her cheeseburger? That was awesome..." Poor Kim.
For me, a blog talks to and about the current things that happen and tries to temper the discussion with awareness. Awareness of where we have been, where we are, and where we are going: The substance of what these situations mean to us and what they may mean to others.
So, what does "Has anyone seen my cheeseburger?" have to do with this? To me the title is a reminder, that not everyone gets where we are coming from. When I think about things that are happening, I go to a place where I have emotion and believe that I have a shared content that describes the situation. And while these things ring true for me, the experience or the reference may more often be a point of confusion for others.
So, "Has anyone seen my cheeseburger?" is the title I am choosing as a reminder to me that not everyone has my point of view and experience... Hopefully, you won't loose your cheeseburger when you read it. ;)
